I could not stop myself from walking towards the Yolka Chocolates booth. It was beautiful, sparkly, luxurious. The 12 year old, barbie loving me won over the 35 year old concerned about calories me. I am so glad little me won. Yolka is a fantastic company and I foresee them on the Bergdorf windows this Christmas.

Marian Rivkind, the company’s founder was there to greet us and tell us a bit about her company. The chocolate ornaments are inspired by her mother’s antique Russian glass ornaments. Think 15th century ornaments resembling the Kremlin. One day as Marian and her son decorated the “Yolka” tree, her son dropped the ornament. This sparked the idea for these lovely chocolate creations.

Marian’s friend, an artist, designed each of the wraps to create an air of luxury. I can’t explain how gorgeous these look in person.

I think they would make great hostess gifts, wedding favors, or simply a small touch of luxury and decadence in your home.
