For those of you who don’t know it, I liked with Greeks for over 15 years. My mom married a Greek gentleman (didn’t end so well), but we ate incredibly well during that time. Easter was one of my favorite holidays. Many of those dishes were incredibly labor intensive…and quite frankly, I’m too lazy to make them. Which gives me good reason to check out these restaurants offering some very cool dishes for Greek Easter:

Loi : 208 West 70th St. Maria Loi’s brand new UWS Greek restaurant will be setting up the grill outside and roasting lambs from Pat Frieda on spits. The outdoor roast is open to the public and food is free for invited senior citizens during a one-hour time slot. Loi has also crafted a special Easter on Sunday starting at 1pm and going until 9pm. The special Easter dinner is $65. Items served will include Magheritsa, marouli salad, spit roasted lamb, ayga kokkina (red Easter eggs) and koulourakia. This means one thing – deliciousness.  I am told there will be takeaway on Sunday April, 15 from 12-1pm.
