Top 5 Champagne for Valentine’s Day

In romance territory which can come close to popping the question, the best way to approach this romantic day is to pop a bottle of champagne.

Champagne is never overrated.  Yes, people expect champagne on special occasions but unlike any other special occasion, Valentine’s Day is a global ritual, an understanding that spans from the tiny island of Manhattan to the Harajuku-packed alleys in Tokyo.  As love is universal, its demand for such attention requires special treatment.  Champagne is a staple on Valentine’s Day, and expect to offer the best bottle you can get.

What makes champagne more special is that it should be grown in the Champagne, France.  Any sparkly from the most prestigious vineyards in Napa will never qualify as champagne.  A bottle should be also filled with either or a combination of the following grapes only: chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier.  Any sparkling wine can come from any grape, but champagne must come from these three selections.  Hence, that lovely bottle you should order on the fourteenth should be produced about 95 miles northeast of Paris and should contain a selection of three grapes.  Champagne is that elusive.

Now that it is ingrained in you the importance of getting a bottle on that (in)famous red day, what are the choices you have?
