Over the weekend I posted about the Jack in the Box Bacon Milkshake. I posted it on Google Plus and voila, someone volunteered to taste it. I’d like to thank Chad not only for going out to experiment with this creation but also for educating me in home brewing (he does not know he’s going to be doing this yet).

Here’s the lowdown from Chad:

Update – Jack in the Box Bacon Milkshake: What it tastes like.

we have tried the bacon shake from Jack in the Box. The color of the shake is somewhere between pink & beige but really doesn’t look like either. Not really a bacon color. The first sip yields a distinct bacon flavor, it is very smokey like a backwood smoked bacon. The sweetness mixed with salty smoke flavor is interesting. My impression is a fried piece of smoked bacon smothered in maple syrup and dipped in whipped cream. It is better than I thought it might be but the flavor is a little too much for me. Anyone who loves bacon may want to try this product. I didn’t find offensive at all. I would like it less smokey with chunks of bacon in it. Maybe a cherry tomato on top instead of the cherry. It is definitely something different.

It sounds like something that could be replicated at home…sounds like I have a new project.
