Review Trattoria Marione in Florence, Italy

1x1.trans Review Trattoria Marione in Florence, ItalyI had many mediocre meals in Italy. Trattoria Marione broke this trend. This lovely restaurant is located about 8 blocks away from the Duomo and very near the Marino Marini museum. We walked in by chance. The restaurant was packed and we were promptly seated.

1x1.trans Review Trattoria Marione in Florence, ItalyI started off by ordering the Ribollita a la vecchia manera (6 Euros). It was described as a soup. It was more of a stew/stuffing creation. I was in love. Vegetables and bread were the stars of this dish. I quickly filled up and made a mental note to find a recipe to make this over the winter.

The top was slightly crunchy from baking. This was truly a homestyle lasagna. We tried to return another day to order this wonderful dish and to our chagrin; they were closed.

We had ordered a third dish. By this time; both Antonio and I were full. We asked our lovely server if it was possible to take it home. They did not have to go containers; so she came back and told us not to worry about it. This was a lovely gesture.

This was a lovely, comfortable restaurant with lots of character and very good traditional Italian food. Do not miss it when you find yourself in Florence.

Trattoria Marione is located at Via della Spada 27R, 50129 Florence, Italy (+39) 055 214756
