The Cube by Electrolux: Will the Pop-Up Change the Dining World?

On top of a mountain or at the edge of a cliff, these places are definitely not a good location to set-up a restaurant. Still, some companies like Electrolux like the challenge of changing perceptions. That’s why they have come up with a restaurant concept (now a reality) that they call The Cube.

The Cube is a unique restaurant concept created by famous architecture group Park Associate. This restaurant is designed to give a casual, yet elegant, ambiance to diners, in settings that are way out of the ordinary. Restaurant on a cliff edge? Check. Restaurant on top of a monument? Check? Restaurant that changes its location every few weeks? That would be another check.

The Cube by Electrolux: Will the Pop-Up Change the Dining World?More of an expression of artistic creativity, The Cube is a place of fine dining, without the need for a superior location. As the designers have hoped, The Cube serves as a place where conventional wisdom on restaurant placement and design are no longer in need. As long as there is a flat place to set-up the structure, then the restaurant can be put in operation.

The dining area can seat 18 people arranged around a single long table. It can be made to disappear by raising it to the ceiling in order to create a lounge area for guests to relax in after dinner. There’s an open kitchen too, where the diners can observe their meals being prepared by expert chefs and served by well-trained staff.

Personally, The Cube is a unique restaurant that goes beyond the norm. Despite the inherent difficulties faced by many restaurateurs when it comes to setting up their own restaurants, The Cube has shown that smart designing and modern technology can solve the problem. Frankly, if all restaurants can be like that, then it’s possible to see similar structures in strange places in the future.

Wouldn’t that be an excellent dining adventure?
