Hey cowboy. If you’ve got a permit, you can dine with your gun belt on in Tennessee restaurants. The Tennessee House of Representatives voted to allow restaurant patrons to bring firearms into establishments where alcohol is served. The vote was 66 for and 23 against.
The bill will be effective on June 1 of this year as long as the State Senate passes the bill next week and Tennessee Governor Bredesen allows it to become law.
“The bill allows restaurant owners and managers to post signs banning guns, including those carried by permit holders. State law allows the 220,000 Tennessee handgun-carry permit holders to carry firearms in places where they are not prohibited.”
