Seattle-based Starbucks announced that the company will soon open storefronts at all Disney theme parks in the entertainment company’s Disneyland and Disney World resorts.

Starbucks to Open in Disney World Locations

The decision was based on the success enjoyed by Starbucks and Disney following the opening of a Starbucks cafe in June 2009 at Disney Village at Disneyland Paris.

“We know food and beverage offerings are an important part of the memories our guests make at Disney Parks and now they will be able to enjoy their favorite Starbucks beverage as part of their experience,” said Maribeth Bisienere, vice president of Disney’s food and beverage line of business.

Starbucks said it plans to open the first of six Starbucks cafes at Disney this summer at Disney California Adventure.

The company also plans to launch cafes at Disneyland Park and Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom parks.

Each Starbucks store at Disney will be designed to harmonize with the surroundings, so visitors may not even know that it’s a Starbucks.

At Disneyland California, for example, the store will be called the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Cafe, modeled after the characters in the Three Little Pigs.

No Starbucks logo will be posted outside, but the company name will be embossed on posts at either side of the entryway.

The inside of the cafe will be decorated with Spanish tiles, stained glass, and dark wood paneling to fit that theme.

“Baristas will wear aprons that Disney says will match the decor, rather than the forest green aprons employees wear at other Starbucks. The cups will also be co-branded. In addition to the full Starbucks menu, the coffee chain said its stores may offer a ‘Mickey Mouse cookie or two’.”

Last December, Starbucks planned to open 300 new outlets in the UK, bringing the total to more than 1,000. Much of the expansion will be in the north.

Starbucks currently has nine drive-throughs in the UK but wants to increase this to 200. Starbucks is also adding an extra 100 coffee shops, which in total will involve 5,000 new jobs.
