Momofuku Fried Chicken Dinner

The adventure of the Momofuku Fried Chicken Dinner started when Rob, a member of our meet-up group made the suggestion. I’m a huge fan of the Momofuku empire, so I quickly got to working on it.

If you’re not familiar with the Momofuku Fried Chicken Dinner, resos are hard to come by and they only accept a max of eight people. I was only able to secure a table for five. The wait list quickly grew larger.

The Fried Chicken Dinner costs $100. This includes 2 chickens (one is the southern Style chicken-fried with a buttermilk and old bay batter, the other is korean style-triple fried and served with a light spicy glaze). Both were delicious. I started with the Southern style. It was super crunchy and crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. There was a bit of heat to it as well. The Korean was my favorite. It has a slightly spicy glaze that is superb.

The meal comes with veggies including carrots, radishes, lettuce, cilantro and mint. These are perfect accompaniments to a Fried Chicken meal. Light…almost tricks you into thinking the meal is healthy. We were given mu shu pancakes and four sauces: hoisin, ginger-scallion, jalapeño-garlic, and bibim which I quickly put to use. The best combo was the hoisin/chicken skin/mint/cilantro mu shu pancake.

Momofuku Fried Chicken DinnerI almost forgot. We started with the ginger scallion noodles ($12). These were delicious. Fresh flavor combinations that were still comforting. Next time we’ll have to order more delicious noodle dishes to try.

Will I go back? Absolutely. Right after writing this blog I’m hopping on their website to secure reservations for next month. Wanna join me?
