A Voce Columbus Circle

During my third visit to A Voce I began to realize how much I like this place. I think the reason has to do with the combination of impeccably prepared Italian dishes, the lovely space (you can dine while looking at Columbus Circle and Central Park) and the thoughtful service that I have encountered again and again. Executive Chef Missy Robins creates lovely dishes like her braised veal shank pappardelle ($13). This is becoming my favorite dish on the menu. This dish puts me right in the Italian countryside. The wide noodles are a lovely compliment for the veal shank. The dish is comforting without the heaviness one might expect. A Voce offers smaller portions during lunch. My choice to assuage the guilty pleasures of dessert.

On your next visit at the Upper West Side restaurant I suggest you order the Bomboloni alla Toscana ($10). If you like zeppoles, you will love this dish. Tuscan “doughnuts” these are more like little balls of delicious fried dough filled with a vanilla cream, sprinkled with sugar. They come with a bitter chocolate for dipping. The bomboloni are warm, sinful, decadent. Stuff like this is worth the calories.

A Voce Columbus CircleIf you happen to be in the Upper West Side or even if you are hitting up a show, skip the more touristy places and make the trip to A Voce. It will be well worth it. Now that I have dined at the Columbus Circle location three times, I have an excuse to try their other locations.

A Voce is located on the Third floor of the Time Warner Center at 10 Columbus Circle in NYC (212) 823-2523
