Restaurant Serving Whale Meat Closes
You may have heard about The Hump. This Santa Monica restaurant was recently caught serving whale sushi in an undercover operation set up by the people behind “The Cove“.
According to the restaurant’s website, it has decided to punish itself for its actions. Could this be a cheap publicity stunt to try to get lesser punishment after the owner and chef were charged by federal prosecutors with violating the Marine Mammal Protection Act?
We think so, specially since the punishment can be up to one year in prison and a $200,000 fine. Guess they should have thought about that before serving whale.
