An NYC Star
Move over Paris. Step aside London. The Green Apple just got a little bigger. The Fat Duck in Bray, Berkshire and Ramsay’s and Sketch in London may set fire to palates across the pond and Pierre Gagnaire may charm your appetite in the capital and largest city in France, but New York now has a total of 78 Michelin-starred restaurants, compared with 69 in Paris and 49 in London.
French chef Daniel Boulud’s flagship restaurant in New York has been awarded three Michelin stars. Daniel, on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, has joined Jean Georges, Le Bernardin, Masa and Per Se, which brings New York’s three-star restaurants to five.
Chef Boulud recently remodeled “Daniel” and also owns Café Boulud, and DB Bistro Moderne. This last summer, chef Boulud opened “DBGB” on New York’s Lower East Side. DBGB offers casual dining with a French slant, fruits de mer platters and roast chicken, as well as beer from all over the world including micro-brews from Belgium and Germany and 24 different drafts.
