Nothing’s Cooler Than Being William Shatner’s Private Chef

William Shatner
Captain Kirk: “Pass the salt, Bones.”
McCoy: “Damn it, Jim! I’m a doctor, not a busboy.”
He has a lot on his proverbial plate these days. He’s the owner and Executive Chef of Café Firenze Italian Restaurant and Martini Bar. He was voted fan favorite from season 5 of Bravo’s Top Chef. He has a new cookbook called Café Firenze, coming out at the end of June, and he’s opening up two more restaurants. He’s going on a 16 city book tour and will visit almost 70 stores. He receives “tons of email and tons of letters”. People wait in line to get into his restaurant. But according to The Independent’s George Yatchisin, Fabio Viviani thinks nothing is more cool than being William Shatner’s private chef.
“Food has been one of my great passions for most of my life,” says Viviani. “I believe cooking and eating delicious meals made with fresh ingredients are among the most important things a family can do together. Cooking is a craft, both for a chef and a home cook, a way of sharing love and good health with others.”
Viviani will be in Santa Barbara on Thursday, June 11, at 6 p.m., says Yatchisin, to hold a cooking demo as part of the annual CALM Design Showcase. For tickets or information see calmdesignshowcase.org or call 965-2376 x149.
