Root Cellar Catering Co., is a family owned and operated catering company that specializes in fresh, seasonal and locally sourced, made from scratch recipes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot rum
  • 1/2 lime
  • 3 or 4 leaves thai basil
  • 1 stock lemongrass
  • 1/2 shot simple syrup
  • Soda water

Method:

  1. Cut ends off lemongrass, set in microwave for a few seconds to release the oil.
  2. Cut a few small slices and reserve rest for garnish -muddle lemongrass, thai basil, rum, simple syrup, and juice from lime.
  3. Fill glass with ice and soda water, and mix thoroughly.

(Note: If you have a cocktail shaker, give the cocktail one gentle shake after all the ingredients have been put in…a proper cocktail needs to always be shaken to marry all flavors)
