Review: Fine Indian Flavors at Junoon, NYC
Junoon, which means “passion,” is a fine-dining Indian restaurant in New York’s Flatiron district led by Executive Chef Vikas Khanna, and Chef de Cuisine, Adin Langille. It features a menu of traditional dishes from the different regions of India all exquisitely done with a contemporary touch.

The restaurant gets its beauty and sophistication from their harmonic marrying of Old World Indian artistry and modern elegance. They even have a lounge called “Patiala lounge“that stands up to its name ‘Patiala,’ which means ‘Big’ in Hindi.

The bar is bigger than most restaurants in New York City. It is ornamented with antique traditional swings and hand-crafted sculptures. Having a high-ceiling and glossy marble floors gave the bar a spacious, vibrant, and welcoming appeal.
They showcase a great selection of wines and a refreshing and creative cocktail and mocktail menu, which are inspired by Indian spices and cooking techniques. This theme is very evident with their ‘Tandoori Tequila,‘ which is made with Tandoori pineapple, curry leaf and Pippali pepper. There is also one cocktail that stands out in their menu” “Autumn Poet,”which is an irresistible concoction of tequila , Fernet Branca , Saint Germain, and maple syrup.
If you are in the mood for some food after having some drinks, you can enjoy a casual dinner at the lounge.
One of Junoon’s best-sellers is their mouth-watering ‘Nadru Kofte,’ which is lotus root dumplings finished off with a traditional Indian cream sauce.
Another popular dish is their ‘Vegetable and Paneer Biryani.’ It is perfectly flavored, not too spicy, and the serving size is big enough for sharing.
Junoon is located at 27 W 24th St New York, NY 10010
