Strike a Pose, and Make Dresses with Cheese

Food is the new fashion. Lady Gaga’s meat dress was soooo last year. Introducing the new trend in the fashion industry ” cheese!

People, ladies particularly, have been looking for something extraordinarily quirky but unique when it comes to dresses. Often, the use of the same kind of clothing material that dominated the industry around the world has lost its glitz and glamor. Thus, the fashionably bright and creative minds have thought of something more spectacular that fashionistas will surely go “gaga”about.

Cheesy down the catwalk. While the idea of Bath Spa University’s textile and fashion students in creating “cheese”shoes was quite intriguing and striking, they’ve come up with a brand new concept to stir up a fashion show where these dresses will be taken down on the ramp. Before, there were Jimmy Cheese shoes, and now, they’ve made cheese dresses. So much for Versa-cheese! Pilgrims Choice, a leading English cheese producer has provided these students with dairy products as materials for their unique fashion project. It took them a thousand hours and roughly 2,000 pounds of different kinds of cheeses to make five sticky yet sleek fashion pieces. I wonder how the rats would react to this.

Heated Cheddar cheeses were used to create an orange striped dress with flower-like cheeses all over the top part of this unique ensemble. There was also a dress that looked like a striking ball gown. The dress was made out of white curds which they had in a web-like see-through long gown that comes with a couture cheese bag.

Strike a Pose, and Make Dresses with CheeseThese fashionable and cheesy creations were showcased in a fashion show at the Royal Bath and West show and were put to display at the same venue which the curious eyes could totally check out for a few days. You can even try this at home, but be sure you’re ready for a stinky and sticky day ahead, and yeah, don’t stay out in the sun and strip you off.

There’s no stopping for brilliant minds when it comes to creativity and innovation. As long as there are materials available, something spectacular can be made out of it, even with a sticky piece of cheese. Cheese dresses, anyone?
