Heidiland Deli in Boracay Philippines

Right in the heart of D’Mall in Boracay is a great little German deli called Heidiland. Turns out there are quite a bit of German expats living on the island; Heidiland fulfills their desires forĀ Charcuterie and imported goods. For Americans who really like to eat high quality foods, Heidiland is an oasis.

When we first encountered Heidiland, we were incredibly pleased. This air conditioned store was a haven from the heat of the island. Within seconds I knew I would be happy shopping there. Heidiland’s selection includes one very important thing in my daily repertoire: wine. Beware when purchasing wine on the island. Most merchants are not aware of the “You must store your wine at 56 degrees” rule. For this reason, it is quite hard to find a bottle that is not cooked on the island. Heidiland’s air conditioning unit keeps its bottles (from Argentina, Chile, France, Italy and Spain) at a perfect temperature. Only one of the many bottles we purchased at the store tasted off.

Heidiland Deli in Boracay PhilippinesThe deli case at Heidiland is wonderful. It supplied more than 10 different types of hot dogs, sausages, caviar, pates, galbanetto, forest ham. Ā Heidiland is also a great place to get cheeses (Ricotta, cottage cheese, Mascarpone, Parmesan, Manchego, Bel Paese, Provolone…). There were chocolates from France, Bolivia and Switzerland. Spreads and crackers to please every palate. Heidiland even makes sandwiches to order. This was a nice change of pace on the island. If you happen to visit Boracay and find yourself jonesing for a really good sandwich, give a visit to this place or hit up the deli next to Dos Mestizos, you will end up happy either way.

Heidiland is Located in the center of D’Mall in Boracay Island.
