Gravy, the latest victim of salmonella recall...geez

The Plainview Milk Products recall is extending to more products that are seemingly unrelated to milk.

The C.F. Sauer Company of Richmond, Virginia, just announced an extensive and voluntary recall of a number of their products which contain the non-fat milk solids that are produced at the Minnesota milkĀ plant, and which may contain the dangerous salmonella bacteria.

At the end of June, the Plainview Milk Products Cooperative issued a recall that included two years worth of products due to possible contamination.

The C.F. Sauer products being recalled include brown gravy, brown gravy with mushrooms, brown gravy with onions, turkey gravy, pork gravy, country sausage gravy, country style gravy, Alfredo sauce mix, Cajun gumbo mix, and Hollandaise sauce mix produced under the Sauer’s, Gold Medal, and Piggly Wiggly labels.

The products affected by this voluntary recall include foil packets and plastic jars in cartons of 6 to 24 individual containers distributed to retail stores in 13 states east of the Mississippi.

For a complete list of recalled products, visit the Food and Drug Administration Web site.Ā  Consumers who have any of these products are urged to return them to the retailer where they were purchased.
