Google+ Cooking School: The Internet KitchenIt must be impossible not to hear about Google’s latest networking site. It gave people headache and even a slight heart attack when it first came out, only allowing a limited number of people crashing into what is probably the current threat to Facebook and Twitter. Google+ is not only a platform for meeting new people and catching up with friends but also do things together, with just one click on the screen button.

Google+ is undoubtedly the newest darling in social networking. Although many are still not convinced by how this platform works, a few of its latest features might just be the key to a very successful run in the business. This project must have been a dream come true for the Google community, from the owners of the biggest search engine on the web, comes this dreamy social networking project that makes sharing more personal in web setting. It has key features that neither Facebook or Twitter have been able to develop, well, not at least before Google+ came into the picture.

One of the best things that you can find in Google+ is the Hangout feature. There is no hidden meaning behind it, just literally hangout. It lets you get together with your friends in a live video call setting. Yes, as long as you have that webcam and built-in microphone, you are good to go. While Facebook already established its own videocall system, the hangout feature in Google+ enables more people to get into your videocall, it is like having a conference or a family meeting with two or more people from any part of the world. And this is not only for the longing family and friends away from home as business is also good while using the Hangout button.

I’m talking about the newest craze in Google+, the Google+ Cooking School. A technology consultant in NY, Lee Allison was the man behind this craziest online cooking school idea. And we are not talking about anything from a website, as he holds cooking sessions through Google+ Hangout feature. From being a simple, self-taught kitchen expert to being an online cooking mentor, Lee Allison has just done amazing things when it comes to cooking and the web at the same time. The Hangout feature which enables a couple of people take lessons through the videocall, is something far from what he has expected. I think it’s a rather cool thing to learn while actually interacting with your teacher, without leaving the four corners of your space. You are working on your own kitchen or space, you get to experience a real-time cooking session ” you get the convenience and satisfaction from a simple feature over a social networking site.

What made Lee Allison decide on the Google+ Cooking School is the kind of socialization you get from an online learning system. The lessons are more personal, although you are not able to taste anything across the web, but what’s important is the more personal interaction between the teacher and student. As a student, I would be asking questions about things, and not just merely following instructions. I mean, it’s part of learning, and you get to have direct answers straight from the cooking mentor.

Overall, I think the Google+ Cooking School is something that a lot of people would be wanting to enroll in. Being able to socialize while learning how to cook and the convenience of staying in your comfort zone makes it an incredible platform to be. I cannot wait to see what more can be done with the future social networking giant, Google+.
