Food Trucks Evolved
Food trucks will forever be part of the American eating culture. For many people, having a food truck along the street can be a quick and easy solution when eating on the go. And why not? There are plenty of reasons why going into a restaurant can be a very bad idea, especially during lunch hour. There are those long lines, scant or non-existent vacant tables, harried service, and the sense of claustrophobia that some people find so revolting. Well, that’s where a food truck comes in.
With a food truck, all the issues mentioned above are minimized. So how would you react if you hear that some food trucks are now going turning into brick-and-mortar restaurants? Sounds pretty bad, maybe? But that doesn’t really spell the end of the food truck phenomenon. It’s a fact that food trucks will stay on the streets. The only difference here is that some of them will be staying in a place indoors. That would certainly be a plus for those who don’t want to wait in long lines during those cold winter months. At least they can enjoy their favorite tacos in the warm comforts of a restaurant.
But that’s not the only developments in the food truck phenomenon. Because of the popularity of food trucks for diners, even some established restaurants have joined the band wagon. Take for example, Buffalo Bo’s. The restaurant famous for its delicious Buffalo wings is now dishing out the same treats in a food truck. Rising rental cost and weak sales convinced the owner to try selling through a food truck. So far, the results seem good. Aside from that, other popular names such as Subway, Sizzler, Canter’s Deli, Border Grill, Kogi, Sprinkles Cupcake, Fatburgers, and Johnny Rocket have all added a truck or two to their brick-and-mortar chain. It’s probably an indication on their attempt to serve more customers (who are usually on the go).
That’s quite a trend to see. Personally, it would be a good development since more people would be served. There are many people who’d love to have a bite of their favorite meals, but the restaurants can be a congested affair. So having one or two branches outside would be a good idea. It’s the same for those who want to eat their favorite food truck treats inside a warm place.
