1x1.trans Food Movies List

With the Oscars coming up on Sunday, we thought it would be a good idea to look back as some of best food movies from the last 25 years.   This is by far not a complete list of food films but any of these would make the foodie in you happy.

Like Water for Chocolate

A food movie about old Mexican customs, love lost, and magical food.

Sideways

Miles is a wine-aficionado, Jack is a hornball.  They take a trip to wine country to booze it up.

BABETTE’S FEAST

A Danish Christian Sect?  A extravagant meal?   Oh yeah it’s good.

Big Night

How two Italian Immigrant brothers try to create a successful restaurant on the Jersey Shore.  Snooki would be proud.

Eat Drink Man Woman

A film by Ang Lee about a father who loses his sense of taste.  The clincher… he’s a chef.   Also his 3 daughters all fall in an out of love.

Ratatouille

Academy Award-winning director Brad Bird (“The Incredibles”) brings you into the world of a Rat in Paris dreaming to become a chef.

Julie and Julia

The true story on when you give a Blogger a cookbook and she decides to cook five hundred twenty four French recipes in a year? On and Meryl Streep is in it!

Tortilla Soup

A retired Mexican Chef shares a home with his 3 daughters. It’s a remake of Eat Drink Man Woman but it’s still good.

Soul Food

A tale about trials a family has and of course Sunday dinner.

Chocolat

This food movie has the beauty of food presented to Johnny Depp by mystical Juliette Binoche.

Did we miss any of your favorite food movies?  If so, list them in the comments.
