A day-old chick

It is a bad time to be a chicken, the latest fad within the fast food  industry is to create insane abominations where chicken is the protagonist. A well hidden actor disguised as sometimes vegetables or dressed up in special sauce.

Here’s a breakdown of some pretty insane and regrettable menu items featuring the world’s favorite meat: chicken.

Burger King Chicken Fries: (250 calories, 820 mg sodium, 30 mg cholesterol). The King decided to replace the potato with chicken. Can’t decide between chicken and French Fries? You don’t have to. Try premium white meat chicken breast shaped like fries, and served with your choice of five dipping sauces. Grab 6, 9, or 12 pieces to go today.

White Castle Chicken Rings: (6 rings: 310 calories, 690 mg sodium, 100 mg cholesterol). A variation on the classic McNugget, this one takes the place of the onion ring. It’s probably cheaper to raise chickens than it is to grow onions anyway.

KFC Chicken Bowl:  (One Bowl: 700 calories, 55 mg cholesterol, 2260 mg sodium). This one is made for people who figure “what the heck, it’s all going to the same place anyway”. Imagine mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, cheese AND crispy chicken with a biscuit on the side.

KFC Double Down: (One “sandwich”: 540 calories, 145 mg cholesterol, 1380 mg sodium)  The first sandwich without the bun. Who needs bread when you got chicken. Touted as healthy because it has less calories. But have you looked at the nutritional content.
