FriendsEAT will be enjoying the treasures of Latin America. On Sunday October 11, we will be at NYC’s newest Brazilian eatery Berimbau which will feature a wine dinner with award winning Chilean wine maker Andrés Caballero.

Caballero is in charge of wine making at Santa Carolina’s properties including Vina Casablanca and Finca El Origen.

Andrés Caballero is one of the youngest wine makers in Chile but has as much experience as many as his older peers.  Caballero has worked at  Rosemount Estate winery in Hunter Valley in 2000,  he then returned to Chile to work at Montes and in 2004 he was in charge of Apalta with responsibility for the M, Folly, Purple Angel, and red Alpha lines.

Caballero has been with Santa Carolina since 2005. He is now in charge of all of Santa Carolina’s properties including Nimbus Casablanca and Finca El Origen. During his time at Santa Carolina, he has received numerous high ratings for his wines from sources such as Robert Parker and the Wine Enthusiast.

Chef Carlos Inacio has created pairings to compliment each wine including 5 food courses and 6 wine pairings (and a signed bottle of wine for attendees). The cost will be $75 (plus tax and tip) If you would like to attend, please contact the restaurant at:

Berimau – 43 Carmine Street, New York, NY (212) 242-2606
