Introducing our kids to the culinary world is a good practice for parents. Believe it or not, it is one of the best ways to get them to appreciate the wonders of various cuisines, as well as letting them experience first-hand what good cooking is all about.

Of course, this means bringing them to a restaurant that serves authentic dishes that is just right for them. There is more to restaurants than pizzas, burger, and fries. Frankly, there are other dining spots that more than welcome even the smallest tots, and provide excellent service as well.

The New York Family website lists down these places that you and your family can go foodie exploring:

Ruby Foo’s: this hip Chinese restaurant, found in Times Square, is one of those great places to bring your kids to. They have kids-sized portions that your children can finish on their own.

Rosa Mexicano: learning Mexican cuisine is best when you take your child to the best Mexican restaurant around. In that case, Rosa Mexicano would be the top choice. Let your tot savor kiddie Tortilla Pie and Tortilla rolls, plus some delicious guacamole.

Sushi Samba: Japanese cooking is no problem when you and your child go to this place. Both locations of this hip sushi restaurant can handle kids, while your child gets the chance to learn how to use chopsticks for their “baby bento”and “sushi bites”.

Candle Cafe: Vegetarian, organic, or gluten-free? That would not be a problem with this restaurant. Let your kid experience the goodness of grilled seitan skewers and pizza with truffle tomato sauce and you can be sure that they will be asking for more.

Fatty Crab: Teaching your kids the joy of Malaysian cooking is easy when you bring them to this place. This cozy spot will surely give them a very enlightening dining experience.

TriBeCa Grill: If you just want your child to enjoy good American classic food, then this grill would be a great place to start. Good food, fun time, and lots of learning is sure to be had.
