Fair Foods: All Is Fair in Love for Foods

Vendors, entrepreneurs, and other foodies have been breaking the norms in terms of being creative in making foods and eating. And there’s one-of-a-kind treat that is really catching up with the food market and pricking the curiosity of people.

There are no popping party poppers or flaming elements in this kind of stuff, but it will definitely give you a full blow of sweetness, saltiness, and of course, greasiness. County fair foods have been knocking on our doors for decades now, without a definite origin, popping out of nowhere. How about chocolate and chocolate bars in deep fryers? Care for some deep fried fruits? Frozen treats in a hot serving? A bit odd, but definitely, this is something worth trying. Get your tummies ready for a very hot entertainment for your curious tummies with a few serving of county fair foods.

Coca-Cola. Did your ever think of eating your favorite softdrink in a cup? Yep, there’s definitely no straw needed here, only disposable spoons, forks, or sticks. It’s like a Cokefloat, except that the coke is fried and topped with whipped cream, syrup, cinnamon sprinkles and cherry. The idea of coke and oil may not seem a very healthy choice for your craving curiosity, but this is certainly a crazy fried treat that is given a share of popularity in the county fair food world.

Originally from Scotland, this deep fried Mars bar has turned your ordinary favorite chocolate bar into something crunchy and gooey and hot and cold at the same. There’s no other straight definition for this, only pure goodness ” and calories of course. The chocolate bar is chilled or frozen before dipping it into the batter to prevent the bar from melting when deep fried. This results in a crunchy coating and a very gooey bite inside. You can also top with whipped cream or ice cream if you’re up for an explosive plate of sugar blow. Have a chocolate treat once in a while, and have it deep fried and hope that you don’t get to Mars bloated and sloppy.

Cheese Curds. This is probably one of the easiest fair foods to make and eat. We all know about the crunchy cheese sticks, but not all foodies have recognized another cheese treat courtesy of cheese curds. These cheese curds are mild in flavor, with a spongy or a li’l rubbery texture. This is a perfect treat to sell at food fairs and parks. It’s light and easy to consume. This unique delicacy from Wisconsin has invaded international fame. Now, more and more stalls have been selling deep fried cheese curds all over. You can try this at home with an easy-do-to recipe that will bring more cheesy-ness into your homes. Take note, however, control is still best.

Twinkies. We’ve got this all over town, with its own mini shops and stalls spurting like mushroom. Probably one of the first fair foods to be sold in public, deep-fried Twinkies are cream filled sponge cakes that are dipped in batter and then fried deep in fats. This looks like a full treat for a single snack serving but if you don’t care for a piece or two of this very crunchy, spongy, creamy treat, then forget about about the whole thing. This may not be your typical everyday snack, but one bite will certainly make you crave for more. You can find this in Twinkies shops or do this at your very own kitchen, at your own risk.

Bananas. Finally we’ve got our fruits covered. In Asia, banana treats are often deep fried and served as a street food, now Americans have also come to love this very wonderful treat. Bananas can be fried in many ways, depending on the type of banana being used. Bananas can be deep fried with brown sugar for a very sweet and caramelized effect. It can also be sliced into a fan-like appearance, dipped in batter before deep frying, and sprinkled with sugar. Unknown to many, bananas are very versatile when it comes to serving. Turn your banana into an extraordinary snack with the deep fried system that is a perfect treat for your growling tummies. Remember though, that bananas suck oil and this could suck your health too.

The number of county fair foods has been growing throughout the years. With the continuous innovation by the people’s creative and wild imaginations, the possibilities are endless. While most deep fried foods rely on fat or cholesterol, and the kind of treats that are made into deep fried goodies, hopefully in the future, there would be more healthier options for these stuff. Something that we wouldn’t be afraid to have adverse effects on both our health and our appetite for food entertainment.
