The dream of becoming a chef someday is still unscratched from my bucket list. And I know, this has also been the same case for many of you here who love food and wants to learn how to cook.

Pursuing a culinary career is not as cheap as it may look like. In choosing a culinary school, you have to consider all the expenses that you need to take care of, and getting into a good learning system may cost you more than a few bucks. In some culinary schools, there are other expenses aside from the regular tuition fees. Costs vary from each school, course or program, and the location and availability of the school to you. Cooking school expenses vary from the different types of culinary and cooking schools. Here is a little annual countdown of the expenses:

  • Community College: $1,000 to $10,000
  • Culinary School: $8,000 to $40,000
  • Public School: $2,000 to $20,000
  • Private School: $12,000 to $50,000

Certificate program in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry costs $17,550, and those with Associate degree costs $22,000 and above, while the Bachelor Degree program costs over $47,000 for online services. Arizona Culinary Institute. This culinary institution offers a more focused class teaching while maximizing its space to cater to smaller class sizes. With an average tuition fee of $500, the Arizona Culinary Institute understands the needs of the students when it comes to financial help by offering different types of loans and scholarship programs that fit their student’s needs. This includes other forms of aid such as the SLM Financial Loans, TFC Loans, NLSC Loans, and other Scholarships, Vocational Rehabilitation and Tribal Funding. They also help the students find affordable housing rentals and boarding houses that fit right into their student’s budget.

Costs of Cooking School TuitionInstitute of Culinary Education. With its great program presentation, backed up by a great list of professional alumni and instructors, ICE offers a rather affordable tuition fee for aspiring chefs. The costs depends on the program and the schedule. Their Culinary Arts program ranges from $29,064-$29,764, the Pastry and Baking Arts tuition ranges from $27,408-$28,208 and the Culinary Management Diploma program costs $13,759-$14,159. Take note that each tuition fee is inclusive of the supplies and materials that you need for your culinary education. Aside from this, they also offer financial aid programs such as the Pell Grant, Stafford Loans, Federal PLUS Loans, and many more.
