Chops & Hops Makes Light of Domestic Violence

Guess Chops & Hops was not paying attention to the Belvedere faux pas that just occurred. They had the chops to create a new dish called the caribbean black and bleu sandwich. What is so special about this Sandwich? It’s not the Caribbean spiced marinated sliced ribeye blackened then look out for the bleu cheese, sliced tomato, silver Lamborghini onions, or shredded romaine. It’s the restaurant’s tactless selling tactics.

” Chris Brown won’t beat you up for eating this unless your name starts with a R and ends with A.”

As a child that came from a home where domestic violence was no stranger, I find this sickening. Marketing departments – domestic violence is NOT funny.

UPDATE

Chops & Hops Makes Light of Domestic ViolenceChops & Hops responded with something that was not exactly an apology, but a step in the right direction: “The owners of C&H would like to make sure everyone knows that we and our staff DO NOT SUPPORT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Many of us have been affected by domestic violence in some manner and realize that this is no joke.
We have been involved in fundraising for Project Safe Team 6 and we fully intend on donating proceeds (times 6 – in honor of Team 6) from the sales of the burger. C&H continues to strive for a community driven, family oriented, great food and great service environment. We will continue to be involved in our community fundraising and charities near and dear to our hearts.”

I’m not in love with the word intend…but we’ll have to take them on their word that they will follow through. The post with the burger is still up as of today (3/28/12), which tells me they are not really so apologetic. Guess only their future actions will tell.
