Coffee drinkers all over the world have one more reason to enjoy more than one cup of joe: coffee actually helps lower the risk of prostate cancer.

Researchers from Harvard University have discovered the health benefits of drinking at least six cups of coffee everyday in terms of prostate and liver cancer reduction. This study is the first large-scale attempt to find a link between health and coffee. Other studies have been done in the past, but the results were mixed or insignificant. With results such as these, there will be more reasons for people to drink coffee (aside from the caffeine fix).

Coffee Lowers Prostate CancerApart from cancer prevention, there are other health benefits that coffee provides. For example, it can be used to help prevent type-2 diabetes. Since this kind of diabetes also affects the normal functions of the heart, it can be inferred that coffee also helps prevent heart problems. Aside from that, coffee is also known to reduce the risks of Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

Still, just go easy on the coffee. It may be good for you, but it better be the brewed variety. There is no telling what instant coffee can do to you, so you should go for the natural variety. At least you now know how good coffee is for you.
